Are You In The Process Of Looking For An EMR System?
Is Your Head Swimming With All Of The Template Based Choices For EMR?
Are You Looking For An EMR System That Is Affordable And Enables You To Chart Template Free - At The Speed Of Your Mind?
Then look no further. At UFC we have done the research for you and found a template free EMR system that uses artificial intelligence to learn as you chart: Praxis EMR.
Medicine is an art, and no two Doctors practice the same way. A quality EMR must have the flexibility to adapt to each individual's methodology. Template EMRs with pre-loaded content are restrictive and cannot adapt to your preferences. Praxis gives you the freedom to practice medicine as you choose, no matter what your specialty.
Founded in 1989 with the express idea of making State-of-the-Art medical information programs, Infor*Med's main product, Praxis® EMR is the most powerful Electronic Medical Record program for medical doctors of almost all specialties, including chiropractors, osteopaths, naturopaths, physicians' assistants, podiatrists-even veterinary doctors are successfully using Praxis EMR. Finding enthusiastic and loyal customers is never a problem, as Praxis EMR is the only program to be truly DOCTOR centric.
Praxis EMR 4: The Template-Free EMR!
PRAXIS EMR is a unique Electronic Medical Record System that charts at the speed of your mind. Based on an artificial intelligence engine called a Concept Processor, PRAXIS EMR continually learns your style, habits, and methodology to consistently improve patient documentation. PRAXIS EMR instantly finds the closest encounter you have ever treated in relation to the one you are about to document, allowing you to use that case-with all its instructions, prescriptions, laboratory orders, patient hand-outs, and history-with your current patient. The Concept Processor inside Praxis enables you to write faster and smarter, and with far less effort.
There are no templates in Praxis EMR.
Templates slow you down by forcing you to fit your patients into endless pick-lists and popup windows, while limiting your freedom and thinking process. And, templates become more rigid and cumbersome as you use them.
PRAXIS EMR enables you to chart template free!
Praxis will not:
- Waste your time with rigid clinical charting.
- Force your patients into pre-set molds.
- Turn you into a technician in the way you practice medicine.
- Force you to choose from pick lists.
- Lead you to practice medicine in ways other than your own.
- Dictate one ‘correct' way to practice.
- Turn your write-ups into electronic nonsense.
- Require you to down code due to incomplete documentation.
- Score less than 100% from any national quality or performance (P4P) scheme.
- Expose you to legal liability from inappropriate documentation.
- Require you to remember the myriad of clinical details of your practice instead of automating them for you.
- Insult your intelligence.
Praxis Knowledge Exchanger:
The Praxis Knowledge Exchanger is a library of medical knowledge bases from colleagues across all specialties of medicine that you can incorporate into your personal knowledge base. This dynamic new tool allows physicians to tap into the knowledge of other clinicians enabling rapid start-ups for new users and enhanced charting capabilities for long-time Praxis users. Makers of templates claim that the drawback to the more sophisticated Praxis approach is that the Concept Processing learning curve is too great.
Now, with the arrival of the Knowledge Exchanger, the entire argument is moot. The Praxis Knowledge Exchanger enables physicians to instantly benefit from the medical knowledge of their peers, and yet maintain a completely separate knowledge base that self-learns just as before.
Praxis EMR and Medical Billing:
PRAXIS EMR WILL NOT FORCE YOU INTO A SINGLE BILLING SYSTEM FOR YOUR PRACTICE ... JUST IN ORDER TO SELL YOU MORE!!
Praxis will not force you to use one selected partner.
YOUR BILLING NEEDS WILL CHANGE OVER THE YEARS‐ PERHAPS FROM A PRIVATE BILLER, OR AN INEXPENSIVE BILLING SOFTWARE, TO AN IN‐HOUSE BILLER, OR MORE EXPENSIVE SOFTWARE WITH LOTS OF FEATURES>>>‐ PRAXIS WORKS WITH THEM ALL!!

Client Testimonials
But don't just take UFC's word for how good Praxis is; listen to what a few Praxis EMR users have to say about Praxis in their testimonials on Praxis' website:
David Hopper, M.D., Family Practice, Oxford, AL August, 2009
Dear Sir,
I enjoyed the recent seminar and very much enjoyed learning about Praxis and your passion for it.
I really don't think there is a comparably structured EHR product out there. Praxis seems to be "The Intelligent EHR" physicians can remake to their own liking. No template can even come close--
Might I make a suggestion?
In the future hopefully there will come a time with demand and increasing sales when Praxis infrastructure will be sorely taxed and there will be a need to expand dramatically. Maybe if you gave Praxis physicians the opportunity to buy shares and own a significant portion of your corporation, Praxis would both get needed capital and also be supported by the docs who use it, believe in it, and care about it. Better to do this than to turn to venture capital that would demand major control and could influence the product adversely in other ways.
I chose Praxis over other systems because of its unique qualities. Those same qualities would make it worth a very hard look as a stockholder in addition to being a user. I feel other Praxis physicians would be also very interested in any such agreement. It would obviously be in participating physicians interests to keep Praxis healthy, growing, and getting better with age. With Praxis thus fortified and improved, a future public offering would be the next logical step to continue to make Praxis stronger and more useful in the delivery of healthcare.
Just some thoughts-- Praxis is just too good to be kept a relative secret forever.
Thanks for all you do--
John Sundheim, M.D., Internal Medicine, Whiting, NJ "The most important reason for an EMR is it improves your ability to practice medicine. Yes, it allows you to upcode to 99214's, but in my opinion this outmoded system from Medicare will be short lived. It seems unfair to reward someone financially for having a machine which can output a lot of meaningless verbiage or a template with all the right "checkpoints".
The benefits of an EMR were recently brought home to me when I entered a note by hand (the patient was 99 and I decided four years ago that she was too old to waste "MB's"). This experience highlighted to me how much Praxis organizes my thinking. First - it forces me to review the list of medications and their entry into the note requires only a few clicks (we ask our patient's to bring a list each visit). A quick review of the problem list and past medical history focuses my thoughts on the job at hand for today. The HPI forces me to ask the pertinent questions to my geriatric patients. Multiple problems are easily handled by combining assessments or using multiple assessments. If set up correctly and thoughtfully; this allows for quick and meaningful note entry. It also reminds you to ask the right questions. The ability to set up "virtual assessment" allows you to extract the necessary tests for lets say an anemia w/u with one or two rapid clicks. Health maintenance reminds you to repeat needed tests and when. Agents are quick notes which flash in front you before a visit to remind you to bring up certain issues or order certain tests etc.
To use an EMR correctly you need to invest the time. It needs to be loaded with the correct information (otherwise garbage in - garbage out). It needs to allow you the flexibility to easily format it in a way that fits your mode of practice. My approach to a patient (whether correct or incorrect is a matter of opinion) has developed from many years of practice. I don't want pre-made templates to dictate otherwise.
I have found Praxis to excel since it is molded to my style and only my style. It is blank on arrival - but easily populated - the only limitations are your own cognitive abilities and typing skills. But even that can be overcome by online textbooks and good medical assistants."
Daniel Griffin, M.D., Internal Medicine, Fort Collins, CO "As a physician using an EMR, not only is PRAXIS the best electronic medical record out there--I say this as I spent two months of forty-hour weeks devoted to this important choice--but also the best supported. As a physician I realize that down time and delays with support just can't be tolerated. PRAXIS dramatically improves my quality of care...the satisfaction of my patients, and the satisfaction of my colleagues to whom I refer my patients. And...the efficiency and effect on my bottom line is darn impressive. I have even come up with some tricks for doing an intake prior to the visit which allows me to very quickly perform a new patient visit and in less than an hour they are through the process and exclaiming how exciting it is to see a doctor who can sit and listen and not have to rush them through. I don't think I have to comment on the financial side of doing two level 4's on new patients in an hour and then at the end of the day being done; no end of the day dictation catch-up or review because it's done while I am in the room.
A Word of Advice:
At this point, before you call us at UFC to talk to us about Praxis EMR, we have to give you a word of advice. Early adopters love Praxis EMR and if you are a physician who loves computers, you will want to use Praxis EMR. It's that simple. Early adopter doctors have fallen in love with Praxis EMR immediately. Many have already demoed or tried templates, and found that templates are rigid and cumbersome. They simply don't work well at all. The early adopter physician immediately understands the value intrinsic to the Praxis Concept Processor, and falls in love with it. It's a no-brainer for them!
But if you are a physician who may not be quite as computer literate or even care as much about the technology involved, then the benefits of Praxis may not be as obvious to you. We have found that many mainstream physicians are often guided far more by hearsay and word of mouth from other EMR vendors, and less by their own intuition and evaluation of the different options presented. And many have been wrongly told that an effective medical software program can be learned through osmosis. So here is our word of advice - review other EMRs before reviewing Praxis. Why? Because when you see the difference between Praxis and other EMR systems you will have a much better idea of why so many doctors choose Praxis EMR over other EMR systems for their practices. So if you have reviewed other EMR systems, give us a call to learn more about Praxis, but if you have not reviewed other EMRs, please do so, and then give us a call to compare Praxis EMR against them.
