What is the ABBYY FineReader Server Price Model?
ABBYY FineReader Server is priced according to three main models (software maintenance is required) plus a variation of those three:
CPU Core license with unlimited pages per year. You pay a one-time license charge and can then process an unlimited volume of documents with the capacity provided by the number of cores you purchased.
Page per year license. You pay a one-time fee and you can process a certain number of pages per year. The license count restarts the following year with no additional expense except for software maintenance.
Total page count license. You purchase processing for a certain number of pages for a one-time project.
A mixture of licenses, say for a fixed page count (total page count) plus an annual volume (page per year). This gets you through the OCR of a large backlog of documents and then allows you to continue processing your new annual volume of documents.

FineReader Server can be pointed to an existing SharePoint Server® library, locate and check out non-searchable documents, and then check back in a text searachable version such as image over text PDF. The product includes native integration with the Microsoft Search Server®. When you install the iFilter add-on on your server, the documents processed by FineReader Server instantly become searchable within your network. Should the system run on a small company network without a server, the processed documents will be searchable directly through the integrated Windows® desktop search.
